The system was written in 2003 when Alpha Five version 5.0 was the current release. As long as you can convert the database from that version to the current version then you should be good. That is a question for the folks at Alpha Software to answer however. My guess is it should convert but confirm with them. Once it's converted you will be able to edit all the database objects. I don't believe this will run under the web version as it is a desktop application.

Dear Sir,

I am a newbie for Alpha Five so I do not know the difference between Alpha Five previous version with the new Alpha Five version 11.

Will this Alpha Five Accounting Run under Alpha Five V11? If it runs, will it run under desktop or web application?

Will it still modifiable as it runs under the previous alpha five version?

Sorry TPI does not update accounts on existing items.

What you could do as a workaround it export your item list to IIF, make the edits in Excel ad then reimport back into QuickBooks. Make sure you have a good backup and please note that if you choose to use this work around it is at your own risk.

I have about 100 products that are currently in quickbooks but have the incorrect COGS and Asset Account defined. I created a import file for Transaction Pro Importer 5.0 and tried to update these fields. Software says all fields were imported but when I look in Quickbooks the COGS and Asset Account information was not updated.

Is this possible using Transaction Pro Importer 5.0? I am using QB Enterprise 11 in single user mode

If you manually enter a Deposit Transaction in QuickBooks you will see that QuickBooks does not fill in the received from on the check register. This is QuickBook functionality. Regardless of whether you use the Bank Statement or Deposit Import you will not see a name in your register. If you want the names to show up in your check register we suggest that you change the import type to sales receipt. You will need to use items instead of accounts though.

I will ask the developers to consider adding the class field to bank statement imports.

I am using Transaction Pro Importer 5.0. When I Select Bank Statement as my Import Type it does not give me an option to map Classes in the Transaction Pro Import Wizard mapping screen. Am I missing something?

If I split the deposit and expense transactions into two spreadsheets. I can map the class but then I can not get the Payee information to import into the "Payee" field under the register.

It seems with each import type I am having to compromise data.

If you receive the error message below after selectig the Delete Txns button:

Bad file name or number. Error occured at line...

The issue is that TPD is trying to write to a log file and your system isn't allowing the program write access to this folder.

Make sure the following folder has full write permissions for the windows user account that is logged in.

C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\01 Transaction Pro Deleter

Substitute "John" with your user name.

Right click on the folder and change the permissions.

I am trying to run TPI 5 (in trial mode) with a Quickbooks 2011 file on a Terminal Server that is running Windows Server.

After a system update last week TPI no longer connects to the Quickbooks file.

I get the following error message:

"Cannot connect to your data source. Check your database type selection and try again.

The following message was returned: Invalid property value"

I found a similar issue on the forum:

However, the workaround referenced here did not work. I believe the TPI version and the operating system are different.

Can you recommend a solution or offer some guidance?
